About Zen Analyze
Zen Analyze is a mindful eating app for iPhone, made by TONGUE LINK TECHNOLOGY INC. in Vancouver, British Columbia. The app brings a thirty-second East Asian morning practice into modern kitchens — open the camera for ten seconds, and the app matches your morning to one of nine traditional patterns, each paired with a small set of food suggestions for the day.
The pattern system draws on two real cultural roots: the East Asian tradition of beginning the day with a brief visual observation, and the twenty-four solar terms (jiéqì) that have organised seasonal eating in East Asian kitchens for centuries. The seventy-five ingredient suggestions are translated for North American grocery stores — oats, ginger, salmon, lemon, chamomile, honey — items available at Whole Foods, Costco, or Trader Joe’s.
Zen Analyze offers a daily food journal, not a wellness tracker. There are no scores, no streaks, and no leaderboards — only a quiet daily reading and a small set of food choices to fit it.
The nine patterns
Zen Analyze matches each morning to one of nine culinary patterns:
- Balanced Garden — A morning in equilibrium.
- Gentle Broth — Soft edges, gentle wake.
- Warming Hearth — Quiet warmth, drawn inward.
- Cooling Spring — Gentle warmth, dry air.
- Light Harvest — A lighter, brighter morning.
- Fresh Greens — Vivid, full of motion.
- Flowing River — Winding, unhurried.
- Open Sky — Clear and unobstructed.
- Mindful Pantry — Sharp and singular.
Each pattern carries its own ingredient pairings, descriptive notes (warmth, moisture, energy), and a daily food suggestion for breakfast, lunch, hydration, and a closing tip.
